This is the core initiative of Pointman Soldiers Heart Ministry INC. (PSHM). The Veterans Stand-Down Center (VOSC) helps U.S. Veterans and others through the core areas of, education, and veteran’s benefits training, and adjusting to PTSD. The VOSC operates seven days a week eight hour (8) per day providing activities and services to include, and are not limited to the following:
Assisting veterans with health, benefits, and housing services to help them reintegrate back into society from war and prison.
Advocating to federal, state, and city agencies in regards to the immediate needs of veterans and to develop long range solutions.
Providing outreach and stand-down mental health service supports for PTSD and Depression.
Provide gender specific services to Women Veteran.
Assisting with upgrading discharges, obtaining employment, housing, physical and mental stability and educational development.
Outreaching to veterans in vulnerable communities by veteran from those communities.
Improving vulnerable environments where veterans help veterans to “Stand-Down” (recreate rest and recuperate from the stress of readjusting to society and their families).
Providing reentry and reintegration supports and advocacy for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
